Invisalign is made to treat overcrowding, irregular teeth, wide-spaced teeth, overbite and underbite as well as other dental issues. Custom-made, using SmartTrack material, they fit snugly over your teeth and gently move them into position using safe, controlled movements.
Quite simply, Invisalign braces straighten your teeth. Using cutting-edge technology, Invisalign is able to show you your complete treatment plan, from your current tooth position to the final position after treatment. A custom-made set of virtually invisible, clear aligners are then designed and produced, which then move your teeth little by little. Each aligner is worn for 7-10 days and then switched for the next one, so there is a safe and steady movement towards the final position. Treatment times vary depending on your case which may be mild, moderate or severe.
Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible so no-one needs to know that you’re having orthodontic treatment unless you choose to tell them. As they are removable, there are no restrictions to your diet during the treatment as you simply take them out, eat and then brush and floss before popping them back in.
There are no metal brackets or wires as you would find with fixed braces so we tend to see patients less frequently than fixed systems.
A huge plus point is that you can see your final result before any form of commitment, in the form of a powerful 3D simulation.
This really does depend on your individual requirements as the complexity of the case varies from patient to patient. Our treatments start at £1500 for fairly straight-forward cases and this cost increases as the length of treatment increases. We can easily determine the cost of your treatment, with a no-obligation and free consultation.
Close to 6 Million patients worldwide have now been treated with Invisalign so you can relax in the knowledge that you’re using a system with a proven track record of moving teeth safely and getting results.
We typically see our patients every 4-6 weeks, making it an easy and convenient method of treatment. In between each appointment, you wear each aligner for the designated time (usually between 7-10days, for a minimum of 22 hours a day) and make the switch to the next aligner until you’re due in for your appointment.
The time taken depends on the complexity of the treatment and is usually about the same time as traditional, fixed braces.
It isn’t unusual to experience temporary, minor discomfort for a few days when you switch to a new aligner. This is perfectly normal and is a sign that the aligners are working and moving your teeth in the desired directions.
Retention is for life, after any type of orthodontic treatment, and not just Invisalign. We offer the option of either removable retainers (worn at night) or fixed retainers if that’s an option for you as some patients may not be.
We can use Invisalign to treat overbites in the vast majority of cases, and show you the final result before you commit to treatment.
Yes, it certainly can and gaps are surprisingly easy to close using Invisalign. We have closed the gaps (diastemas) of many patients, please contact us so we can share their before/after pictures with you.
Approximately half of our Invisalign patients have had previous ortho treatment and unfortunately suffered from ‘relapse’. We can correct the issue and straighten your teeth again using Invisalign.
Not at all and this is one of the benefits of using Invisalign over fixed brace. You simply remove the aligners, eat as you normally would and then brush/floss before popping them back in again.
It’s really simple to maintain clean aligners by brushing and rinsing in lukewarm water. You can also use cleaning tablets if you feel you need to. As they are switched every 7-10 days, it’s really easy to maintain.
Invisalign recommend a daily wear time of no less than 22 hours a day. You wear them all the time, unless you’re eating.
The majority of patient notice absolutely no difference in their speech. A small number may have a period of adjustment, just as you would with any other orthodontic system.
